In the opinion of Paul Gordon, "Collins's Card Conceits" was/is Stanley Collins finest hour! Although written in 1925, it was/is a great card magic book. It has been out of print for nearly sixty years, but Natzler Enterprises and Paul Gordon have just published a newly typeset reprint.

Unlike the original; ANY card can be the final revelation...ANY card!

Effect: A card is chosen from a (regular) deck of cards. The magician tries to find it, but fails! However, he produces an insurance policy that guards against these problems. The policy is turned over to reveal all 52 cards; it has to be one of these!? Sighs & groans! He opens the policy to reveal the 2D. Nope! He opens it again to reveal the 4C. Nope! Finally, he reads the front of the cover which urges the spectator to contact the company and quote the policy number. On closer inspection, the policy number (and we LOVE this bit) magically reveals the whereabouts of the card; under the magician's shoe! EASY to do; with a handling (signed card) for the advanced performer!

Can be, unlike other versions, repeated! Great news for professional magicians!

Percy Naldrett (1888-1973) was editor of The Magic Circular from 1938-1950; a magazine (The Magic Circle journal) which he also printed. He was also author/compiler of The Collected Magic series and other wonderful books on magic. As a poet, he was best known for his work about The Great War. His titles are part of The British Museum collection. (Four of his poems are in Paul's book.)
